Route of the Novillo

You will enjoy an encounter with nature and the artisanal drink "bacanora", as well as a walk in one of the largest dams in Sonora and # 16 in the country.

The route begins in the town called Mazatán, 80 kilometers east of Hermosillo, very famous for the production of regional fresh cheese and its warm people. We continue in the town of Mátape, Villa Pesqueira, known for being the origin of the musical orchestra of the Othón brothers. We will go to Rancho 7 Coronados where they will give us a brief tour and explanation about the distillation and elaboration of Bacanora, a representative drink of Sonora. Right there we will take the food, the people of the ranch will make the famous flour tortillas and sobaqueras, accompanied by the meal of the day. On the way to our last stop we arrive at the caves, to take a short walk while the guide gives us an explanation of why it is called "the dry waterfall"; You can take photos, appreciate nature and a beautiful view of San Pedro de la Cueva, recognized by the cave in front of the town and by the wafers that originated here. You will also appreciate the scenic viewpoint and the stacks. "La Ruta del Novillo" offers various activities, such as commercial fishing, bird watching, sport fishing, observation of diverse flora and the history of the three towns: Batuc, Tepupa and Suaqui, which sank to develop the Yaqui Valley.
